It’s a study of an old fisherman who had worked so hard in life but had fallen on hard times and lost everything.

I saw this photograph and my heart broke for him. His eyes were so empty like a lost soul everything gone helpless it just grabbed me and I felt strong emotion as I painted him.

I hope and pray wherever he is in the world his life had become a little better and he has found kindness and a smile again.
